Several of BCA’s customer has lost millions because they fall for phishing victim. Can you spot the difference between these links?
Hacker use ascii character domain that the letter spelled same with official website. Even some tech savvies can be fooled by these link if not pay attention for it.
Hacker then advertise that link of Google ads where it can appear top most of search result. If the user search instead of manually type the domain, they can fall for phishing victim. Upon click, user will be bring to fake website that hacker has prepared. The website looks identically same with official website. This is where the user input their credential, hacker steal it and use for illegal transaction.
Best practice to avoid phishing website is always type the domain manually. Double check all letters, make sure there no typo especially for sensitive website like internet banking. Hacker often purchase similar domains to catch typo phishing victim.
