Disable Promo Notifications
Too many promo notifications can be annoying. While we still need important notification like new message, transactional status update, etc, we can’t completely disable notification.
Notification on apps are build on categories. By default Android doesn’t turn on this feature. To use this feature, first we must activate it:
1. Open Settings.
2. Tap Notifications menu.
3. Tap Advanced settings.
4. Switch on Manage notification categories for each app.
Now additional additional Notification categories menu has appeared on App notifications menu. To access this menu:
1. Tap and hold on designated app.
2. Tap info icon.
3. Tap Notifications menu.
4. New Notications categories appear on bottom.
5. Switch off promo category.
It is up to the developer to separate promo notification category. However it is good to give it a shot. If the promo notification is merged with main notification, ie: there is only one category. In this case, we have no choice but to disable the notification entirely. The choice is up to you.
